#PhoneNews – Huawei P9 Voted Best Smartphone 2016/2017 At The EISA Awards. See The List Of Winners…

In what may be considered surprising to many, the Huawei P9 has been voted as the Best Smartphone in Europe.

Yup! The yearly awards organised by EISA – the European Imaging and Sound Association for outstanding consumer electronics and gadgets in Europe for the 2016/2017 period, adjudged the Huawei P9 ‎as being the Best Overall Consumer Smartphone in Europe. The P9 was so awarded due to its beautiful design, excellent hardware and innovative camera, beating the Galaxy S7, S7 edge, Apple iPhone 6s & 6s Plus, amongst others.

It would interest you to know too that the Huawei‎ P8 won the same award last year. 


Well other flagships from the known OEMs were also awarded in other categories. The Samsung Galaxy S7 & S7 Edge won Best Camera on a smartphone award.

The HTC 10, despite not recording very impressive sales numbers, picked the award for being the Most Advanced Smartphone due to the noticeable overall improvement in its features compared to the M9.

CoolPad’s Torino picked the award for the Best Budget Smartphone‎ in Europe for offering hard-to-ignore specs for a considerable price of $223.67

LG wasn’t left out of the groove as its LG G5 picked the award for Best Mobile Innovation due to its modular design and modular add-ons.

Moving over to other categories, the HTC Vive toppled the Oculus Rift & Samsung Gear VR to win the Best VR (Virtual Reality) headset.

Garmin’s Fenix 3 smartwatch beat Apple’s Watch, Huawei’s Watch & Samsung’s Gear S2 to pick the award for Best Wearable/Smartwatch. 

JBL swept the speakers and audio categories with the JBL Charge 3 winning the Best Mobile Speaker and the JBL Reflect Mini BT winning the Best Mobile Headphones
